The new Burtz Ford Model A engine block is now available! It features a 5-main bearing design and includes a dynamically balanced crankshaft and set of connecting rods.

This new Model A Ford cylinder block is made from a modern grey iron alloy as used in current production engines. The new Block, Crankshaft and Connecting Rods are re-engineered for strength and durability and manufactured in a modern factory that supplies OEM engine parts to many manufacturers.

The exterior is identical to an original cylinder block through the use of laser scanning. Ford drawing A-6015 was used to ensure that all surfaces and hole locations are identical to an original cylinder block so that original or new aftermarket parts can be used in the build process.

The interior is similar to a modern engine with 5 replaceable main and camshaft bearings, 17 pressure fed bearings, 2-inch diameter main bearings, large, streamlined intake ports, hard exhaust valve seats, and an off-the-shelf radial lip rear main seal.

Kit consists of engine block, crankshaft and connecting rods.

A modern nitrile seal that replaces the old 2 piece style rope seal in the front of the motor.

Fits 1928-34 Model A & B four cylinder engine plus the 1932-53 Flathead V-8 and the new Burtz Model A block.

The bottom rests in the oil pan, and the top in the timing gear cover. No matching required.

Brand New Burtz camshaft for the 1928-34 Model A and B engine.

This is an all new B profile cam, designed for the new Burtz 5 bearing engine block, but will work in all 1928-34 Model A and B four cylinder engines.

Important! There is no lobe to operate the stock model B mechanical fuel pump, so an electric fuel pump will be required, unless you are using it in a Model A.

This new camshaft has .340 inch lift and the lobes are separated by 113 degrees. It is made of nodular iron which is the material most new engines.

The 5 bearings, together with the lobes and center gear is hardened to HRC40/52 to keep the gear teeth from becoming brittle.

This is a newly designed flywheel by Terry Burtz, for the Model A and Model B 4 cylinder engine.

They are balanced and lightened to a weight of 31 lb.

The mating interfaces to the crankshaft, pilot bearing, and ring gear are identical to an original Model A flywheel, but is drilled to accept the V-8 style 9-inch pressure plate.

(pilot bearing and ring gear are not included).

This is a modern style nut that holds the cam gear onto the end of the camshaft. This style has a 1-1/2" hex machined onto it so that special tools are not necessary.
